This magazine is very effective as Katy Perry is standing so she is blocking part of the title of the magazine, making her the main focus of the front cover. However, it is hard to read what the name of the magazine is as Katie's head completely blocks the middle part so it is unclear whether it says 'Blender' 'Bleeder' or 'Bleeper'. The magazine has a black, pink and white theme which makes it look more professional and carefully thought about. I think these are a good choice of colours as they stand out.
I think its effective how the fonts are all in different sizes on the front cover, in different colours and some words are bold and others are not. This makes it look more attractive and draws attention to the most important parts.

You're right about the subject obscuring some of the title, so how can the magazine know that people will know what they are looking at? Is it that they always use the same font for the title, so their established readers will know?
